Peaceful Endings at Home

Compassionate at-home euthanasia for your beloved companion, surrounded by comfort and love.

We're Here for You

Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the most difficult decisions a family can face. At Life Quality Pet Care, we understand the depth of this bond and are honored to provide peaceful, dignified end-of-life care in the comfort of your home—where your pet feels safest and most loved.

What Does At-Home Euthanasia Include?

Pre-Appointment Confirmation

A compassionate confirmation of your appointment details, addressing your questions about the process, aftercare options like cremation and paw prints, and helping you prepare for the day.

Gentle Sedation

Your pet will first receive a calming sedative so they peacefully drift to sleep before the final medication, ensuring complete comfort.

Humane Euthanasia

Once your pet is deeply sedated, a painless injection allows them to pass peacefully while you hold them or stay by their side.

Cremation Coordination

We work with trusted local cremation services and can arrange private or communal cremation based on your wishes.

Transportation Care

After the appointment, we respectfully handle all transportation to the cremation facility on your behalf.

Before Our Arrival

  • Choose a quiet, comfortable spot where your pet loves to rest
  • Gather favorite blankets, toys, or bedding
  • Consider who you'd like present—family members, children, other pets
  • Have treats ready if your pet is still eating
  • Take your time—there's no rush to say goodbye

At the Time of Appointment

  • Dr. Gleason arrives and takes time to meet your pet and answer any remaining questions
  • When you're ready, a gentle sedative is given—your pet will relax and drift to sleep
  • Once deeply sedated (usually 5-10 minutes), the final injection is administered
  • You may stay with your pet as long as you need
  • We handle everything with dignity and care from there

Aftercare Options

We understand that honoring your pet's memory is an important part of the healing process. We partner with trusted local cremation services to offer:

Private Cremation

Your pet is cremated individually, and their ashes are returned to you in an urn or keepsake of your choosing.

Partitioned Cremation

Your pet is cremated in a partitioned section alongside others in separate compartments. While 100% separation cannot be guaranteed, your pet's ashes are returned to you in an urn.

Communal Cremation

Your pet is cremated with others, and ashes are scattered in a peaceful memorial garden. No remains are returned.

Home Burial

Some families choose to bury their pet at home. This is the owner's choice and responsibility, and local laws must be followed. We can advise you on regulations in your area.

Additional memorial options including paw prints, fur clippings, and custom urns are available upon request.

In-Clinic Option Available

While we believe home is often the most peaceful setting, we understand every situation is unique. In-clinic euthanasia appointments are available at our Carson Valley location if that's more comfortable for your family.

Ready When You Are

There's no pressure and no timeline. When you're ready to talk, we're here to listen and help you plan a peaceful goodbye.

We'll reach out within 24 hours to discuss your needs and schedule an appointment.
